Exhibiting artist Anneliese Vobis leads this workshop on making “fossils” from recycled materials. Participants will transform man-made materials into shapes seen in nature. This workshop also includes an introduction to fossils, specifically those occurring in Maryland. We will make fossil landscapes, mimicking those of the Chesapeake Bay cliffs using the Shibori method. The landscape will be dipped in ceramic slip and mounted to a paper backing. Registration is $30 for museum members and $35 for non-members. Includes wine and supplies. Come dressed for messy work! No artistic experience is necessary.
