History Happy Hour- Cooking up the Past

Join food historian Joyce White for an interactive experience cooking recipes from the past for the holiday season. Participants will learn how to read recipes from the 19th century, or earlier, and get hands on experience recreating the recipes. Historical equipment will be used to churn and wash butter, grind spices, whip eggs.  You will also learn how to flavor food in usual ways. 19th c. Cup Cake (also called 1-2-3-4 Cake) and 18th c.
