Exhibiting artist Anneliese Vobis leads this workshop on the ancient art of felting, introducing participants to new, experimental processes. Whether you are experienced in the fiber arts or you want to try felting for the first time, you will learn something in this hands-on workshop. Participants will use sheep’s wool to felt over organic objects like stones, potatoes, and so on. Sheep’s wool will be transformed in plastic bags with soap, water and friction into felt. We will also use recycled materials like old wool sweaters, transforming them into small works of felted art. Registration is $30 for museum members and $35 for non-members. Includes supplies but you are encouraged to bring old wool sweaters to recycle. Come dressed for messy work!
