Chronic Illness Support Group at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center

Many people live with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, COPD, CHF/heart disease, stroke, kidney disease/ESRD, or sickle cell anemia. Chronic illness can affect all aspects of your life and dealing with it can be very challenging. Through support and education Ali Karpa, CRNP, a cardiovascular nurse practitioner and Debbie Chakalakis RN, a certified diabetes educator at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center will lead a monthly support group to discuss issues faced by those and their family who live with chronic illnesses. Our goal is to assist our patients in identifying and coping with these issues. The First Wednesday of Every Month 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
