Afro-Puerto Rican Dance

Afro-Puerto Rican Dance Workshop
One of today’s most noted dancers, Julia Gutierrez-Rivera, will lead you as live drummers get you in the groove. In this 90-minute workshop for adults, age 18+, you’ll learn the art of stretching, high and low impact movement, dance sequences and more. Tap into one of the oldest dance and music practices of the Caribbean – Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba with Cultura Plenera. Bomba means “the act of cooling down by heating up” and has a 500 year reputation for self-expression and emotional and spiritual release.
