This talk will examine Prince George’s County, Maryland as a diasporic space by using ethnographic data as a springboard for discussion.  It will also consider ways this notion of “Diaspora” can be a useful tool for building community in Prince George’s County, Maryland and in other places.

During May's "History Happy Hour," come explore Sandy Spring Museum’s newest exhibit, Art of the Afrocentric Community, a collection of multi-media sculptures by award-winning artist Floyd Roberts.

Includes beer, wine cocktails, and appetizers.
