13th ATHENA® Award Tea

 

On May 3, the 13th annual Greater Olney-Sandy Spring ATHENA® Award will be presented during a Celebration Tea on the grounds of Brooke Grove Retirement Village. Four outstanding individuals were nominated for the award to recognize and honor local women for their community service and professional and personal leadership. They are:

Diane Grimes
Mona Negm
Joyce Rose Plaxen
Karen Rollings

Presented in memory of Brooke Grove Foundation (BGF) Founder Eleanor Howe Marston, RN, the program was adopted by BGF and the Olney Chamber of Commerce in 2006 to recognize women who have demonstrated a "dedication of self and a generosity of spirit" toward the Greater Olney-Sandy Spring community. Fundraising executive Pam Spears, a longtime Olney resident, was the 2017 ATHENA Award recipient.

Also honored during the celebration will be the winner of the $1,500 ATHENA Scholar Award.
